Send a Bear Hug to a Student Away From Home with a Back To School Bear Hug Care Package Review + Giveaway
I remember the first time I moved away from home. I was a couple weeks out of high school and totally naive to the experience that lay ahead of. Those first couple weeks were an adjustment and I began to miss home quickly. I craved anything that reminded me of home, and I made many phone calls during that time.
Remembering that feeling, when I recently received the Back to School Bear Hug Care Package from GourmetGiftBaskets.com I wished I would have had something similar during those hard first weeks.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge courtesy of GourmetGiftBaskets.com. This post may have affiliate links but this in no way will influence the review to follow and all opinions are my own.
The Back to School Bear Hug Care Package from GourmetGiftBaskets.com is a basket that is filled with snacks and treats that will remind them of home. The Back to School Bear Hug Care Package includes the following:
Teddy Bear – while colors vary, we got a traditional brown bear. The Cinnamon & Brown Sugar Kettle Corn by KingOfPOP.com and Sweet Onion Kettle Corn by KingOfPOP.com we both good. I wish the Cinnamon & Brown Sugar was a bit sweeter, but overall both varieties of popcorn were tasty and fresh tasting.
Butter Toffee Peanuts by Hammonds – These kettle roasted gourmet peanuts are always a yummy treat and the Chocolate Wafer Rolls by Dolcetto were very crisp and the chocolate inside each one was not overly sweet, and the perfect amount to keep the sweetness down.
Chocolate Chip Cookies by Kimball Lake Bakery – When you are talking about chocolate chip cookies, there are few ways to go wrong. These are small cookies, and would be a great reminder of home.
What is better than candy? Nothing that I can think of and this assortment is a great selection that includes Strawberry Twizzlers by Hershey, Wild Berry Skittles by Wrigley, Plain M&Ms by Mars, Cheez-its by Sunshine, Strawberry Airhead by Van Melle, a couple of Atomic Fireballs, Jawbreakers, Tootsie Roll Midgees, Laffy Taffy and Smarties. Each of these candies was sweet, and reminded me of days gone by.
All of this comes in a colorful box that will give a sense of excitement to any recipient. If you are looking for a wonderful gift that will remind the recipient of home, the Back to School Bear Hug Care Package would make a great gift for anyone in your life.

My first time away from home, besides visiting family alone, was my junior year of college. At least I was 2.5 hours away from home so I could visit my mom!

I was always clingy as a small child and didn’t like staying at camp or slumber parties. Once I was a teenager though I was skating competitively, so I would go to camp in the summer by myself. I think if it weren’t for skating I would have had a hard time leaving state for college.
