Adult Coloring Book: Flower Patterns Review

Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Flower Patterns Review and Giveaway

Adult Coloring Book FlowersWhen I was younger I was not a flower fan, and then one day I was walking past the floral display at the local farmers market I noticed the beauty that had always been in front of me. I took a hard look at those flowers, and then I noticed a couple were garnering more of my glances than the others.

The flowers that made me look twice were the Gerber Daisy’s and sunflowers. I can honestly say that these are my two favorite flowers and I have a hard time not smiling when I see a bright flower. When I think about it, it makes sense that I would like these two since they are all about the color. The sunflower can be either an orange/yellow or a solid yellow and are beacons for bees looking for a flower to pollinate. The daisy is a simpler, more delicate flower, but equal in color and variety ranging in color to blues, yellows and pinks.

When I received the Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Flower Patterns by Alexandra Doffing for review I immediately looked to see if my two favorites were included.  The new coloring book Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Flower Patterns by Alexandra Doffing contains over 28 floral themed images to color. The flowers included are daisy’s, gardenias, magnolias, dahlias, and sunflowers to name just a couple.

Flower Patterns to be coloredI think that my favorite thing in the books was actually at the end – a visual glossary of the flowers that were included throughout the book. The inclusion of this guide allows the “colorer” to look-up the flower’s traditional colors if they are otherwise unfamiliar with it otherwise.

As with many of Blue Star Coloring Books the book, unfortunately, does not lie flat. If you open the book wide you are able to crack the binding which will then assist in creating a flat surface in which you can color. As always it is important to note that the book’s pages are glued to the binding like a traditional book, making tearing the picture out a little more difficult.

My recommendation is to take care when tearing or removing the page or use a cutting device to get the page out. There is a little space around each photo to cut a border out if you decide to frame your own art piece.

Colorful Flower PatternNow for my usual recommendation and as I do with many other coloring books that I review, I recommend a piece of paper under the page you are coloring when using pens to avoid bleeding through to other pages. I chose to use gel pens because I wanted a shine and shimmer to my plants, and floral designs. Despite using gel pens, I had NO transfer through the page and to the other pages, and the images dried clean. Take care if you use gel pens, I accidentally smudged my image because I thought it was drier then it was,so give it a little time to dry.

Many times I sit and wonder what a flower would look like in a different color, and while I am unable to do this in reality, in the world of coloring this is encouraged. Coloring allows us to experiment with color, and expand our creative imaginations – even with flowers.

I recommend Adult Coloring Book: Stress Relieving Flower Patterns by Alexandra Doffing for all flower lovers!
